Press statement on disclosure of information about Phonexia company at WikiLeaks

On Thursday, December 1st, 2011 WikiLeaks began publishing materials exposing the global mass surveillance industry. Among other documents, our presentation has been published: Phonexia - Speech intelligence for security and defense. Phonexia´s work can be misinterpreted in the light of the sensitive documents that are published on WikiLeaks. Therefore we release the following statement:

The vision of our company is to make the most important information which is hidden in audio recordings available for our customers and public. Phonexia´s software can be used anywhere you can find bigger amounts of audio data - for example in call centers, in television and radio archives, in universities for accessing educational materials, in technical support centers in companies and on the Internet.

Access to information is among the most important factors for each individual, company, the state and the economy. Therefore, we consider the fact that the intelligence agencies are interested in our tools quite logical. These components operate according to valid laws of the individual states.

From the security point of view, it is not crucial that the technology exists, but where and how it is deployed. It is important where and how the audio is recorded, and whether it is accessed by authorized people only in accordance with the law. No such information is involved within the "leaked" file. The presentation contains freely accessible information about our technology, the profile of our company and partners, as described below.
